Da Hong Pao comes from a handful of ancient tea trees growing straight out of rock cliffs in China’s Wuyi Mountains. Legend says an emperor once wrapped these trees in a red robe -da hong pao- to honor their healing power. From that moment, this tea became rare, protected, and revered.

What makes this tea special is the fact the rocky soil forces the roots of the tree deep into mineral-rich stone, creating tea leaves with extraordinary depth, warmth, and resonance.

Da Hong Pao can be steeped 7-10 times, and each infusion tells a different story. The first steeps bring roasted depth and floral notes, while later rounds reveal fruity sweetness and subtle mineral undertones. Don't throw it away after one cup.

SERVE HOT at 95°C

Water temperature around 95-98°C unlocks Da Hong Pao's complex layers without scorching the leaves. The high heat awakens the locked-in aromas and that signature rocky minerality.

QUICK RINSE TO AWAKEN LEAVES

Pour boiling water over the tea for 5-7 seconds, then discard. This "wakes up" the tightly twisted leaves and prepares them for brewing. The dry leaves will slowly unfold and release a pleasant floral scent Think of it as an introduction before the real brew begins.
